Is it safe to attend physical therapy at this time?

We can all work together to minimize the risk of infection and the safest thing to do is to maintain social distancing. Telehealth physical therapy allows you to stay home while still improving your health through online physical therapy.

We follow or exceed all CDC and county guidelines for cleaning, social distancing, and more. However, we ask persons that the county and CDC has asked to stay sheltered to please do so. Please consult with your physician if you have any questions whether your condition or sheltering should take priority.

Read on to find out the extraordinary measures we are taking to protect you and the personnel at Plexus.

How will you protect visitors and staff from infection?

  • Cleaning -

    • All tables and equipment that patients and staff contacts will be cleaned with alcohol or disinfectant after each use.

    • All persons at Plexus will wash their hands before and after therapy.

    • All tables and surfaces will be deep cleaned at end of each day.

  • Screening - Measurements upon entry for earliest detection of signs of infection

    • Front door temperature tests for signs of fever.

    • Front door blood oxygen saturation level measurements detect early signs of lung impairments.

  • Distancing -

    • All patients will be kept 6 ft away from each other.

    • Staff will minimize contact and proximity to patients when possible, while providing effective hands on therapy as appropriate.

  • Mask -

    • All staff and patients will wear masks of the highest protective value available.

    • Single use disposable masks will be provided for patients.

  • Scheduling -

    • Scheduling will be rearranged to reduce patient overlap and number of persons in the office.

    • Volunteer programs are temporarily suspended to reduce personnel exposure.

  • Vaccination -

    • All of our therapists have been vaccinated for COVID, unless they are pregnant or otherwise not suited for the vaccine at this time.

Should I attend physical therapy in person?

We do not recommend anyone over 75, or anyone over 70 who has chronic conditions such as respiratory issues, cardiac conditions, cancer history, diabetes history to attend in-person physical therapy at this time. For everyone else, please consult with your government orders, your physician’s orders, and your own priorities to decide if in-person physical therapy is appropriate for you. Please consider tele-health as a safe and valuable alternative.
